CIVIL PROJECT ENGINEER

This is an office-based position that involves the design of site grading, drainage, utility, and storm water management plans for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.


The responsibilities include:
o Prepare project site and construction plans and specifications using the local and state standards
o Produce drawings and details using computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software
o Prepare and organize project-related documents, calculations, submittals, permit applications, quantity estimates, and other site related information
o Track permits and liaise with local, county, and state reviewing agencies
o Coordinate with field crews and contractors and conduct on-site inspections as needed
o Assist project manager within client contact and communication
o Maintain exceptional internal and external client relations

Qualified candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering, possess a current P.E. license issued by the State of Michigan OR a F.E. license and be eligible to obtain P.E. license in two years, and have a minimum of 2 years of related experience. Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Excel, Word, and computer modeling software is a plus.


CHIEF SURVEYOR

This is an office and field based position that involves mapping, topographic, utility, boundary and ALTA surveys, plats and condominium drawings, and construction layout.


The responsibilities include:
o Operation of complex surveying equipment for property and construction surveys
o ALTA / NSPS surveys
o Boundary and topographic surveys, ground control, floodplain, wetland and woodland surveys
o Ensure that surveys are in compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations
o Investigate, locate, identify and advise or recommend the acceptability of survey data
o Understand real estate document interpretation (e.g. deeds, restrictions, easements)
o Research engineering plans and maps, field notes and archival records regarding sites to be surveyed
o Prepare right-of-way and easement descriptions and exhibits
o Prepare plats and condominium drawings
o Staking of construction sites for horizontal and vertical controls, grading, utilities, paving, and "as-builts"
o Review plans and stakes for errors or potential conflicts
o Prepare paperwork related to construction staking(e.g. cut sheets) and survey projects
o Maintain detailed field notes and records and prepare reports, correspondence and other written records
o Download data and perform survey calculations
o Maintain exceptional internal and external client relations

Qualified candidates should possess a Bachelors Degree in Surveying Engineering, hold a current P.S. license or be eligible for exam in the near future, have a minimum of 4 years of previous experience (at least one year as a crew chief) and shall be proficient with all standard survey equipment, data collectors, total stations, robotics and GPS. You must maintain a current driver's license in good standing. Working knowledge of AutoCAD is preferred.


CIVIL CAD TECHNICIAN

This is an office-based position that involves the drafting of site grading, drainage, utility, and storm water management plans for residential, commercial, and industrial projects.

The responsibilities include:
o Produce drawings and details using computer assisted design/drafting equipment and software
o Plot and organize project-related documents, submittals, and other site related information
o Assist project engineer within project computations and calculations

Qualified candidates must hold a Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering OR Associates Degree in Civil Technology OR equivalent civil technology military training OR equivalent technical experience in a civil engineering related field. A minimum of 2 years of related experience. Proficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, Excel, Word, and computer modeling software is required.


SURVEY CREW INSTRUMENT OPERATOR

This is a field based position that involves mapping, topographic, utility, property and ALTA surveys, and construction layout.


The responsibilities include:
o Operation of complex surveying equipment for property and construction surveys
o Review plans and stakes for errors or potential conflicts
o Maintain detailed field notes and records
o Upload/download data and perform basic survey calculations

This job requires a lot of walking and carrying of equipment outdoors, year round, in all types of terrain and weather conditions. Qualified candidates should possess a high school diploma, have a minimum of 2 years of previous experience, and shall be proficient with all standard survey equipment, data collectors, total stations, robotics and GPS. You must maintain a current driver's license in good standing.
